Middle School Makes an Impact

It is always rewarding to make a positive impact, and last week, SCL middle school students got another opportunity. All 60 students went on a service trip to Many Hands Many Meals in Excelsior, Minnesota to pack food for families in need around the world. They filled meal pouches with scoops of soy, rice, vegetables, and vitamins; sealed them up; and packed them in boxes. In total, they packed 109 boxes with 23,540 meals that will be sent to families in Sierra Leone!

It was fun wearing hair nets, seeing how many meals could be packed within the time limit, and finding out how the service would help people who desperately need food and hope. We pray this food is a blessing to the people who will receive it and that the students were blessed to experience the joy of helping others.

Service opportunities like this are one way SCL students put their faith into action and use their abilities to make a positive impact in the world.
